Louisiana Lawyer Who Didn’t Work After Clients Paid Disbarred

A Louisiana lawyer who neglected clients, didn’t keep records for a trust account, and commingled funds was disbarred by the state’s highest court.

Nicholas Anthony Bellard “violated duties owed to his clients, the public, the legal system, and the legal profession,” the Louisiana Supreme Court said on Wednesday.

An audit of Bellard’s trust account in 2017 found that he had commingled and converted funds from clients and other parties, the court said. But because there weren’t any records, the auditor wasn’t able to determine the extent of harm to his clients.
