London: Middle Temple Library is recruiting an Assistant Librarian

Middle Temple Library is recruiting an Assistant Librarian, to be responsible for the administration of all aspects of the operation and configuration of the Library’s cataloguing systems, SIRSI Dynix Symphony Workflows and Enterprise. The post holder will play a key role in the project to implement a classification scheme using the Moys Classification system and provide cataloguing assistance to the Cataloguer. The role also involves working at the Enquiry Desk, providing a legal reference service to members of the four Inns of Court. Some lifting and moving/re-shelving of books will be required.

It is essential that you have a graduate degree in library/information studies and experience with the administration of SirsiDynix Symphony Workflows and Enterprise, or with an equivalent LMS. You will have strong cataloguing skills, and knowledge of Library of Congress subject headings and MARC21. You will be flexible, have strong organisational skills and excellent customer service skills. You will be comfortable communicating with people at all levels (including very senior barristers, judges and other distinguished individuals from various backgrounds).
