We learn that Lexis Nexis Australia intend to have in place by the end of May a trial…..
email alerting service to advise their subscribers when hardcopy updates (looseleaf to you and me) have been mailed. Apparantly the trial will focus on a select list of publications in order to finesse the process before implementing it across the suite.
LN Australia say that they are looking for suggestions from subscribers on how they’d prefer to receive the updates such as a weekly summary email etc
An alerting feature is currently available on the LexisNexis AU platform for registered users, via the "Research Manager" tab (top navigation bar). Click on the link to Legal Update Wizard which will then walk you through the steps to create alerts on a select list of sources. You select the sources from a set list, set the frequency and choose your preferred delivery type. You will only be emailed if there are new results for that source, so you can be sure to know when content updates have been added to that source.
Also, a new service "LexisNexis Total Alerts" will be launched in July 2009 which will allow users to receive individual email notifications of case, legislation and journal updates per practice area. The content will be drawn from CaseBase Case Citator, LawNow Legislation and a range of LexisNexis Journals.
