Library Position – London University Legal Subject Librarian

I’m putting a call out for legal librarians looking for temporary part time work:

Subject Librarian – Law (Part Time)

Location: London

Pay rate: circa £19.00 per hour

A leading London university has a temporary part time job for a Subject Librarian to provide legal subject support to students and academics in the law department. This is a temporary job to start ASAP until the end of August in the first instance, probably longer. You would be working 18.25 hours per week with a degree of flexibility around the working arrangements.

The job will involve liaison with academic staff, promoting the library service and ensuring the library is well placed to meet the needs of academics and students. The Subject Librarian will lead on collection management and there will be a strong emphasis on information literacy training in support of law students. In addition the Subject Librarian will promote the open access agenda to academics and researchers.

This job offers a good opportunity to work for a well-resourced and respected university, using your specialist experience in law. The job offers flexibility for someone looking for part time work.

The Subject Librarian will be professionally qualified (or will have equivalent practical experience) and be able to demonstrate either a solid background in law libraries with a strong emphasis on user training, or sufficient experience working in academic libraries with a sound knowledge of legal resources.
