Library Manager
£45K – depending on experience (Full time permanent position)
We are looking for a dynamic legal information professional to manage the day-to-day running of the Library and take a leading role in the design and delivery of practical legal research training.
You must have a detailed knowledge of standard hardcopy and online sources, experience of managing or supervising staff and proven experience of designing and delivering legal research training, preferably to both students and practitioners.

Gray’s Inn is one of the four Inns of Court which have the exclusive right to call men and women to the Bar of England and Wales. The Inn provides continuing legal education post-qualification, the Library, the Chapel, dining, scholarships, advocacy training and other facilities for students and barristers.
Gray’s Inn Library
The Library houses over 75,000 books, journals and law reports, including rare books and manuscripts dating back to the 11th century. It offers the full range of general English legal materials but also collects in over twenty specialist areas of law, including its flagship international law collection, maintained on behalf of all four Inns of Court. The Library also offers a range of online resources and a professional enquiry service for students and barristers.
Duties include
. Deputising for the Head of Department, with involvement in policy, purchasing and staffing decisions
. Day-to-day management of front-line Library services
. To take a leading role in the design and delivery of practical legal research training face to face and online
. To provide expert legal research support to library staff, barristers and students
. Line management of junior staff and evening assistants
