Position Overview:

The LIV Library provides LIV members, legal practitioners and staff with access to information services and legal resources.

 

The Library Manager plays a key role in the design and delivery of the LIV Library’s strategic plan, resources, support and services for LIV members, legal practitioners, LIV staff and the community, with a focus on leading a team of experienced Law Librarians and delivering a high-quality member and user experience.

 

Working closely with the General Manager Member Experience & Support, the Library Manager will be actively involved in developing and delivering the LIV Library strategic plan as part of the LIV’s member, stakeholder and employer value proposition.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of the LIV Library Strategic Plan on time and to budget
  • Management of the Library Team
  • Working closely with key internal stakeholders to ensure optimal delivery of positive member (user) experience for all LIV members, legal practitioners, staff and the community
  • Working with various groups of external stakeholders (including the Law Library of Victoria and publishers) and LIV staff in order to deliver high-quality, up to date support, products and services

 

To be successful in the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Library Information Management
  • Eligibility for Associate membership of ALLA (desirable)
  • Experience and leadership skills in managing a Law Library (desirable)
  • Experience in problem solving to deliver a high-quality member and user experience
  • Strong planning, budgeting and organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including listening and oral communication
