The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a keen interest in developing their legal research skills to join our Knowledge team as a Library Assistant working 1 day per week (Monday). With support from our Legal Librarians, the successful candidate will assist our lawyers and other professional staff nationally by conducting research and providing efficient legal information and resources using in-house and external sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research various topics as requested by operators for trials including background research
  • Provide assistance to operators by sourcing specific items such as articles, cases and legislation reports
  • Ensure the latest information is available to users by keeping filing up to date
  • Catalogue and label new material including books and subscription services
  • Assist with the audit and review of journals, books and articles to ensure stock is being turned over

Skills & Experience we’re looking for:

  • Ideally completing a Bachelor of Law
  • Experience conducting legal research
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to build rapport quickly
  • Possess a high degree of initiative and enthusiasm in order to meet deadlines
  • Excellent organisation skills and adapatable
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
