The Law Institute of Victoria (LIV) is the state’s peak body for lawyers. Representing more than 19,000 members the LIV’s purpose is to be the dynamic leader and innovator of the legal profession; support and inform members; raise the profile and standing of the legal profession; and advocate justice for all.
About the Role:
The Library provides LIV members, legal practitioners and staff with access to information services and legal resources. Resources and services are designed to optimise accessibility to all practitioners irrespective of their proximity to the Library.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assist with the provision of corporate reference and research services.
- Maintain productive working relationships with other librarians and links with information sources to encourage and assist with the exchange of information.
- Manage and assist document delivery requests in the library workflow (supply and demand)
- Contribute and participate in project planning, assist with setting milestones and work towards completing and achieving nominated tasks for each project.
- Assist in maintaining the libraries print collection (shelving, shelf checking & archiving)
To be successful in the role:
- Essential:
- Related tertiary qualification in library and information management studies
- Library experience, preferably in a law library
- Understands the importance of customer relation skills
- Able to manage time, set priorities and organise workflows
- Experience with using a variety of content management tools
- Experience working with a broad range of stakeholders
