The Division of Academic and Student Engagement drives the achievement of the University’s strategic goals in relation to learning and teaching and is comprised of five key portfolio areas led by: the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Student Learning); Pro Vice-Chancellor (International); Dean, Indigenous Research and Education Strategy; University Librarian and the Executive Director, Division of Academic and Student Engagement.

The University Library portfolio provides resources, services and spaces that enable and support staff and students to achieve success in their research, teaching and learning. These activities include collection dev elopement and management, both physical and electronic; services associated with the discovery of, access to and use of information resources, provision of flexible study spaces and guardianship of special and heritage collections. Services and resources are provided online and from the physical locations of the Barr Smith Library, the Elder Music Library, the Law Library and libraries at Waite and Roseworthy campuses.

This position is part of the Academic Liaison team who develop and deliver quality client-centred Library programs and services for academics, researchers and students to meet current and future scholarly needs. The Liaison Librarian, Law is responsible for support services to the Law School to enhance scholarly productivity, support Law staff to deliver excellent learning outcomes for students at all levels and to strategically participate in learning, teaching and research processes. The role has both a strategic engagement and operational focus.

Salary: (HEO7) $85,105 – $95,231

Superannuation: An employer contribution of 17% applies.

Term of position: This continuing position is available immediately.

Position requirements

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and market information services in a higher education environment.
  • A contemporary understanding of contemporary and emerging pedagogical practice, digital capabilities and graduate attributes.
  • Experience in designing, leading and evaluating engaging information and research skills programs.
  • Proven ability to proactively build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Understanding of and familiarity with legal literature and materials and associated legal institutions and processes.
