Lexis Nexis Australia Exec Doing Something Useful

Our congratulations to Ms Rios who has been recognised for her leadership of LexisNexis’ rule of law initiatives over the last two years, including advocacy against modern slavery, working to advance the rule of law in developing countries such as Myanmar, and developing the global human rights tool RightsApp.

Here’s the full story

“For LexisNexis, advancing the rule of law is a foundational principle that underpins all of our work,” Ms Rios said.

“By promoting the rule of law, we are able to give the most vulnerable people in society a chance to be heard and empowered.

“Increasing access to justice and protecting human rights creates greater safety and stability for people within their own countries. It also produces an environment that is conducive to the successful operation of businesses, generating positive economic outcomes for the members of those communities.”

Ms Rios appeared on The Lawyers Weekly Show earlier this year to discuss the proposed introduction of an Australian modern slavery act.
