LexisNexis, a leader in the legal publishing space seeks a recently practicing investment management attorney with 5+ years of experience to join an exciting new division to help develop online legal products, tools and solutions for transactional attorneys. Recent and intimate knowledge of registered investment adviser regulation and private fund formation, as well as legal process and associate workflow is sought to help inform content development and strategic direction.

Main Objectives of the Role:

The person in this role will help deliver a compelling and all-purpose practical guidance legal product across targeted markets as a member of a multi-disciplined team of content developers, product planners, IT specialists, external consultants, and marketing and sales reps. This person will:

  • Develop, edit and/or write practice notes on a variety of investment management topics and trends.
  • Draft and annotate fund formation, compliance and transactional documents.
  • Recruit outside expert authors to contribute content to the product offering.
  • Assist in the design of the product offering’s customer interface application, customer facing messaging/marketing, sales and customer training.

Detailed Role Description:

  • Develop, edit and/or write practice notes on a variety of investment management topics/trends.
  • Monitor investment management practice area trends/news.
  • Recruit external authors and contributors to produce content for solution.
  • Make recommendations concerning content and tools strategies.
  • Monitor competitiveness of the product offering.
  • Interfacing with customers and analyzing customer feedback.
  • Assist in the design of the customer interface application.
  • Support sales efforts via product demonstrations and sales and customer trainings.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience (preferably with AMLaw 100/200 firm) practicing investment management with a focus on private fund formation and/or manager compliance.
  • Significant experience with fund formation documents as well as drafting and negotiating compliance materials, fund launches and related corporate and investment management matters.
  • Deep knowledge of investment management trends and workflow.
  • Strong professional network of investment management attorneys.
  • Excellent writing and research skills; experience writing for a law journal, drafting client alerts and/or CLE presentations a huge plus.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with incredible attention to detail.
  • Experience leading associate training programs a plus.
  • Active bar membership in good standing.
