The legal analytics platform Lex Machina, which is owned by LexisNexis, has added a module for litigation involving claims under the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as claims under related state laws.
The collection consists of more than 90,000 cases involving violations of Titles II, III and V of the ADA, as well as claims under disability rights laws in states that Lex Machina covers.
Like Lex Machina’s analytics for other practice areas, the ADA module provides analytics on judges, courts, law firms, attorneys and parties in ADA litigation.
The module includes ADA-specific filters, such as for high-volume plaintiffs, auditory/visual accommodations, mobility accommodations, service animal accommodations, and website access accommodations. It also includes practice-area specific analytics for damages, remedies, and findings.
As I’ve noted before, ever since LexisNexis acquired Lex Machina in 2015, the company has been expanding its federal court analytics into new practice areas. With the addition of the ADA module, it now covers 18 federal practice areas, ranging from antitrust and copyright to securities and trade secrets.
In addition, Lex Machina has been gradually expanding its coverage of state courts. After expanding its California coverage last April, it now provides analytics for seven California superior courts: Alameda County, Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, Sacramento County, San Bernardino County, and San Diego County.
It also covers these state courts:
- Clark County, Nev., District Court.
- Queens County, N.Y., Supreme Court.
- Bronx County, N.Y., Supreme Court.
- Richmond County, N.Y., Supreme Court.
- Kings County, N.Y., Supreme Court.
- Fort Bend County, Texas, County Court and County District Court.
- Delaware Chancery Court.
- New York County, N.Y., Supreme Court.
- Harris County, Texas, County Court and County District Court.
Lex Machina says more state court modules are in the works.
