Trustpoint is proud to partner with a top Am Law 100 firm in their search of a Legislative Research Librarian on a direct hire basis. This role will support reference services and legislative and regulatory research firmwide. Though primarily remote in nature, this position will require in office attendance on an as needed basis, in either the firm’s NYC or DC office. Successful candidates will have 2+ years’ experience of applicable library research experience at a law firm and proficiency using a variety of databases (e.g. Bloomberg Law, CapitalIQ, VitalLaw, Lexis Advance, Westlaw, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Provide reference and in-depth research on regulatory, legal and business issues, corporate records and business developments in a timely and efficient manner
  • Track and collect legislative history; reviewing legislative process
  • Monitor and analyze current and emerging issues and developments related to the legislative agenda
  • Provide training and support in research and library use techniques
  • Become a trusted part of the Research Services Team; respond to inquiries from staff and provide research-based guidance

Qualifications

  • 2+ years’ experience of library research within a law firm. Previous experience with legislation and regulation research (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Advanced degree in library science, library information science or related field (preferred)
  • Advanced understanding of standard secondary research resources both in physical and digital form
  • Experience with state and federal legislative and regulatory processes
  • Experience using Bloomberg Law, CapitalIQ, Eikon, Factset, HeinOnline, VitalLaw, Intelligize, Lexis Advance, Westlaw, and other legislative resources
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Meticulously detail-oriented and able to prioritized competing projects or tasks
  • Previous experience in competitive business intelligence research (preferred)
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours as needed
  • All candidates must be able to work at a computer screen for a sustained amount of time
