Legal Training and Development Manager
An international law firm that is headquartered in London has an opportunity for a legal training and development specialist to join their team. This role is centred around working closely with lawyers and barristers to identify and deliver on their technical training needs and sits with the Knowledge Management function of the firm. This Training and Development Manager role would be most suitable for someone that with expertise and experience in a similarly niche legal training role.
The primary objectives and responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Working with a network of UK based Lawyers to identify current and future training requirements
- Horizon scanning to identify developments and to implement a programme of continuous development and improvement
- Working in partnership with the wider learning and development function to design and deliver required learning interventions
- To capture and manage available learning content, learning programmes and to maximise accessibility
- Line management responsibility
- Establishing a centre of excellence for legal training
Suitable candidates will have the following experience and skills:
- Experience in a similar training and development role specifically aligned to legal / lawyers. Previous experience in legal or professional services is essential
- A legal or related qualification – candidates qualified by experience will be considered
- Experience managing and building relationships with challenging stakeholders that are geographically dispersed over multiple UK locations
- Partnering with Learning and Development teams, IT, external providers and experts
- Experience within best practice for training, e-learning solutions and the use of technology
- Managing multiple concurrent projects and priorities
- Managing a budget for training
