Job Summary: The Legal Research Services Librarian will assist in providing an enhanced level of legal research assistance to the Law School’s faculty as well as to other members of the Law School community.

Additional Department Summary: Reporting to the Head of Research and Instructional Services, responsibilities will include providing research and reference support to faculty, students, and other patrons of the Bounds Law Library, actively participating in both formal and informal instructional and training activities, and the creation and maintenance of instructional materials, including online guides and tutorials. This position will also work collaboratively to develop and implement new research services, engage in outreach initiatives, participate in collection development, and other duties and tasks essential to the law library’s mission.

Required Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a law degree (J.D. or LL.B.) from an ABA accredited school and a master’s degree (M.L.S., M.S. in L.S., etc.) from an ALA accredited program and some experience where service orientation and reference skills were utilized. Experience requirement can be satisfied by student, graduate assistant, or intern experience where research or reference skills were obtained. To be considered student experience, it must be clearly detailed on the application. Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge and proficiency with relevant legal research resources, tools, and technologies;
Familiarity with educational and communication technologies;
Experience working in an academic library, including as a student worker or graduate or research assistant.
