Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.

The Ford Agency is actively recruiting for a Legal Librarian for a mid-sized law firm in DC. This role will manage all aspects of the firm’s law library and have a lot of interaction with all areas of the organization including oversight and training of paralegal staff. The ideal candidate will have a Master’s in Library Sciences with 2 years of legal library experience. This is an excellent role for a professional legal librarian with research experience to work in a collegial and collaborative environment.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage the library to include research, reference, technical services, and website development
  • Monitor and report on congressional developments
  • Gather, organize, and maintain content for practice pages
  • Prepares a budget and related reports
  • Oversee and train paralegal staff
  • Summarize research and analysis into concise reports

Qualifications Include:

  • Master’s Degree in Library Science
  • 2+ years law library experience
  • Strong Bluebook cite-checking required
  • Outstanding organizational skills and communication abilities
