Legal Librarian and Research Specialist Clayton Utz Brisbane QLD

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Legal Librarian and Research Specialist with eLodgement responsibilities to join the Knowledge Management and Operations Teams in Brisbane, on a full time basis.

 

Working as part of a dynamic, supportive team, you will be responsible for providing library and research guidance to internal and external clients, as well as conducting regular group and individual training sessions. The successful candidate will also have sole responsibility for the eLodgement tasks in the firm.

 

Key responsibilities

This is exciting role will see you provide effective delivery of library and research assistance to the Brisbane office, including but not limited to:

 

  • Performing complex legal research tasks for internal and external clients
  • Conducting graduate and clerk research training programs and delivering legal research refresher course
  • Providing complex business intelligence research for internal clients
  • Evaluating products/services as required
  • Participation in national library projects and activities
  • Working closely with KM lawyers for their information needs
  • Manage the Court (and ASIC) eLodgement system for CU nationally
  • Monitor legislation and developments in Court eLodgement systems to ensure CU practices are current and compliant

 

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum three years’ work experience in a legal/corporate environment
  • A thorough understanding of research methodologies combined with experience in the use of library collections, databases, internet and other research sources in the legal sector
  • Ability to analyse complex information requests and present relevant information and information sources.
  • Excellent teamwork skills with a “roll up your sleeves” attitude
  • Attention to detail and exceptional organisational skills
  • Tertiary qualifications in librarianship or information management is essential
