Full Job Description
Content Writers communicate complex legal information clearly, concisely, and accurately. As a content writer for our client, your role involves tasks such as reading and writing conceptual overviews and procedures, or updating help center queries and FAQs. Additional duties may include light configuration of the CMS application to support cross-publication, SEO, permissions and ACLs and deployment of internal features and tools for content formatting and presentation.
Location: Strong preference for Austin, TX (team is based out of Austin). Team will also consider strong candidates based in Mountain View, Boulder, NYC, or Chicago. Candidates must be open to working out of the office 3x/week .
Responsibilities:
Manage multiple competing priorities in a constantly changing environment
Write, publish, and maintain high-quality Policy, Process, and Procedure documentation and online content
Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills
Conduct audience analysis and cater documentation deliverables to the audience’s needs
Work closely with team SMEs to create Policy, Process, Procedure and reference documents
Set up new installation top-level configurations in a CMS
Sets/confirms Consumer ACLs and Permissions for new/updated help center content
Optimize search (SEO)
Submit localization requests
Troubleshoots help center customer issues
Cross-publish content and create redirects
Applies rules (targeting) and properties
Creates contact forms
Configures E2E flows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) using HTML and CMS internal tools and features
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
BA/BS degree or 2-4 years of relevant experience in technical writing, product documentation, online publishing, or technical blogging, with a portfolio of writing examples (link to portfolio at top of resume is required)
Experience writing clear, accurate, and concise SOP documentation
2-4 years experience working in and configuring a content management system (CMS), e.g. Connect Composer or an enterprise-level CMS.
Experience working with a distributed team
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with security protocols and setting access controls
Experience with HTML and managing files in a CMS
Proficiency in top-level configuration of a CMS environment
Experience writing for legal or technical instructions, procedures, and guides
Ability to navigate ambiguity, support multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to write in a range of styles and tones, from highly technical to informal prose
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to take initiative on tasks
