Law360 Launches Dedicated Legal News Service For Australian Market

A quarter of a century after they bought a Australian legal news site from me and trashed it within months, exciting news indeed!

LexisNexis has launched Law360 Australia, a purpose-built version of its legal news and analysis platform for the Australian market.

The service is the first dedicated regional offering from Law360 for Australia and is aimed at law firms, in-house legal teams and government professionals. It provides real-time reporting on litigation, regulation, enforcement and policy developments.

Law360 operates in the US across dozens of practice areas and jurisdictions. The Australian service is built as a standalone product for this market rather than an extension of existing US coverage.

Financial services first

Law360 Australia launches with a dedicated Financial Services section covering what the company describes as Australia’s most heavily regulated and enforcement-active industry.

Specialist reporters are tracking developments across ASIC, APRA, AUSTRAC and the ACCC. The service includes what Law360 calls Expert Analysis, featuring commentary written by lawyers for lawyers.

Two further sections – Commercial Disputes and Corporate Practice – are planned for later in 2026.

How it positions itself

The service sits between legal research platforms and general news outlets. Law360 describes the distinction as the difference between knowing what the law is and understanding what is changing, why it matters and what action to take.

It includes daily newsletters and real-time alerts delivered each business morning, alongside ongoing reporting on developments as they happen.

Teresa Harmon, Vice President and Publisher of Law360, explained the rationale for entering the Australian market.

“At its core, Law360 has always been about making sure legal professionals aren’t caught off guard,” Ms Harmon said.
