But still it’s great to know that at long last there is a precedent in the US legal system, that at the very least, that might make both big legal publishers think about the way they have been employing? editors many of whom are either recent graduates, students or part timers as a way of not forking out for real authors..

Two law professors won a $5.1 million defamation suit claiming their reputations were damaged when West Publishing falsely identified them as the authors of a poorly researched treatise update.

This has long been a complaint of Legal KM’s and librarians worldwide. The fact that the authors themselves have little to do with updates, re -edits etc.
