About the PositionThe Lane County Administration Department currently has an opening for a 1.0 FTE Law Librarian / Program Supervisor. The Law Library is a program of County Administration, and the Law Librarian position is supervised by the Intergovernmental Relations Manager. The Law Library provides legal reference, research, and referral services to litigants, attorneys, and the general public, and is open Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a law and/or public library, can demonstrate a strong commitment to public service, is accustomed to working independently, has excellent customer service skills, is tech-savvy, and has a working-knowledge of legal resources available in the Law Library and beyond. Candidates with exceptional communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and experience serving diverse patrons in a library setting are encouraged to apply.About the DivisionThe Law Library is a division of the County Administration department, is located downtown in the Public Service Building, and open to the public. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Bachelor’s Degree in related field and three years of progressively responsible experience in a law or public library, including lead or supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.Applicants who hold a Masters in Library Science degree and/or have professional-level experience working in a law library or public library are preferred.
