This position is responsible for the overall management and direction of our Law Library (which consists of a large collection of books, periodicals, State Attorney’s Office training videos and expert witness materials), as well as our electronic research contract (Westlaw). The work schedule for this position is 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position is exempt from the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).

Position Overview

The Job Responsibilities are:
Monitoring library expenses to ensure adherence to budget
Developing and maintaining the library collection (acquiring, cataloging, classifying, physically processing, and routing printed and non-printed materials)
Distributing and providing books, periodicals and loose-leaf services
Providing legal reference and research assistance as needed
Adding and updating statutes in A-Form Management Program
Preparing and updating charge forms
Negotiating with representatives for our Office online legal research contract
Preparing jury instructions for Assistant State Attorneys as requested
Reviewing and distributing Third District Court of Appeals opinions weekly to the appropriate Assistant State Attorney
Managing access for Assistant State Attorneys and staff Westlaw Next accounts
Providing Assistant State Attorneys with Continuing Legal Education training materials as requested
Performing other related duties as assigned

The Minimum Requirements are:
A Bachelor’s degree
Related work experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college training or an equivalent combination of training and experience
Must have legal research experience
Must have knowledge and familiarity with Florida Statutes

The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are:
Having knowledge of the Criminal Justice System

Starting Annual Salary: $35,568.00
