Not sure that we’ve ever reported on a law librarian standing for a seat before.

WASHINGTON, DC. – Kent C. Boese, the chairman of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 1A, said Saturday that he will challenge Ward 1 D.C. Council member Brianne K. Nadeau in the 2018 Democratic primary.
Boese, a 52-year-old law librarian, is the second Democrat to oppose the first-term lawmaker. He said he is running because he feels that Nadeau has shown “a level of disengagement” in addressing residents’ concerns.
“That disengagement creates a gap between constituents and the council,” Boese said. “I want to be problem-solving in the community because then you gain a better understanding of how it’s functioning and not functioning.”
