About the job

The Research Services department’s Technical Services and Collection Analyst is responsible for technical services in Dechert’s EMEA offices. This hands-on role interacts with Research Services, lawyers, and staff, to ensure excellent availability of information and research tools through accurate cataloguing, collection development, current awareness, database management and quality assurance. The Analyst will deliver outstanding service to users throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Duties include:

  • Analyze EMEA collections by office and practice group to identify areas of risk and make recommendations to RS and PG leadership
  • Analyze print resources and publishing landscape and propose options to reduce print resources
  • Coordinate and lead all aspects of technical services during EMEA office moves
  • Catalogue new materials for EMEA offices, working with the Manager of Technical Services, and Research Services Manager, EMEA
  • Maintain bibliographic records within the EOS integrated library system, including culling old records, adding new items and performing data quality checks
  • Participate in testing and implementation of new online resources in cooperation with Research Services, IT, and end-users
  • Partner with the Systems Analyst to address and resolve technical issues for EMEA resources
  • Maintain data in Research Monitor and Research Services-supported Intranet pages
  • Maintain current awareness materials and distributions, while periodically reviewing, identifying, and proposing solutions to streamline functionality
  • Assist in the onboarding of new employees by procuring access to resources
  • Monitor password and database requests for Technical Services group accounts
  • Develop, maintain and distribute current awareness routing for EMEA offices
  • Organize, check-in and distribute mail using the EOS integrated library system
  • Process all invoices for Research Services for EMEA offices
  • Assist in interlibrary loan requests
  • Update information on vendor records and password lists on department Intranet page
  • Manage budget coordination for EMEA offices including, but not limited to, monthly reporting, quarterly reforecasts, and the annual budgeting process
  • Track all EMEA expenses in the RS budget spreadsheet
  • Maintain EMEA collections to a high standard, including shelving, acquisition, serials management and cataloguing
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • University-level degree required
  • Master’s in Library and Information Science or equivalent qualification preferred
  • One year’s experience working with an Integrated Library System preferred
  • Prior law library experience preferred
