SUMMARY: According to established policies and procedures, this position is responsible for providing in-depth research services for the firm’s attorneys and staff across all offices, in a traditional and virtual environment. Research areas include legal, corporate, and current awareness research. Also assists with collection development and content analysis, vendor and contract management, cataloging, and customer support. Observes confidentiality in all client and Firm matters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide quick reference and in-depth research services in all practice areas, including general litigation, intellectual property, regulatory and securities.
2. Create and manage litigation alerts, docket tracks, and news alerts.
3. Work with Legal Research Manager to create and provide training as well as content awareness across 20 offices. Prepare instructional materials and research guides.
4. Assist with analyzing print and electronic legal content collection, including review of purchase requests and recommending cancellations.
5. Assist with vendor management, contract management and negotiation, as well as annual budget process.
6. Troubleshoot issues in relation to both print and electronic resources.
7. Assist with catalog maintenance as needed.
8. Manage local print collection, including processing mail and supplements.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Knowledge of legal library systems as normally acquired through a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent experience and degree in related field. J.D. or MLIS a plus.
2. At least three years’ experience in a legal professional services organization conducting litigation research, such as case law, expert witness, and docket research. Strong background in IP research a plus.
3. Experience with collection development and vendor relationships.
4. Proficiency in all elements of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
5. Strong interpersonal skills in order to communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact.
6. Work often requires a high level of mental effort when answering a high volume of requests for information and performing other essential duties. Must be able to work with little supervision on special projects, often on a short deadline.
7. Technical ability and willingness to learn new platforms and systems.
8. Work may require more than 40 hours per week to perform the essential duties of the position with occasional travel to other offices.
