Knowledge Services Manager – Law

Following a restructuring process which has resulted in the need to grow their team, a Knowledge Services Manager is required by an extremely prestigious law firm with a European HQ in London, and multiple world-wide offices. The principal objective of the role is to take ownership of the technology, the people and process relating to knowledge services for the European and APAC regions of the firm. This role will work within a large and growing knowledge and information function based out of London.

The primary objectives and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Managing a team of specific platform and technology solution specialists
  • Working with senior management in the firm to define and deliver a knowledge services strategy for the Europe and APAC region
  • Ownership and definition of KM systems, processes and delivery
  • Working in partnership with key stakeholders to define their needs from knowledge services and to work with specialists to design and deliver solutions
  • Line management responsibility. This includes managing performance, workloads and identifying training needs and opportunities
  • Horizon scanning. The post-holder will be responsible for seeking out innovations, solutions and trends that will add value to the function and firm
  • Defining and managing a budget with a particular focus around technology

To be a suitable candidate for this Knowledge Services Manager requirement, candidates will need the following:

  • Experience in a similar Knowledge Services role ideally in law, or the professional services arena
  • Knowledge and expertise in enterprise search, legal knowledge resource management, and practice management solutions
  • An experienced leader with a track record of developing staff and creating high performance teams
  • An innovator. This role requires someone that can spot opportunities and deliver solutions that add value for clients and stakeholders
  • An expert in stakeholder management, influencing senior management and motivating others
  • Project and programme management skills. This role would require someone to manage multiple workstreams and projects
  • Ideally, a related degree
