ROLE OVERVIEW

Working as part of the global Knowledge & Legal Technology team, and working closely with our IT Department, you will be responsible for managing and developing the delivery of the client facing legal technology provision across all our locations.

Working with our clients and colleagues, our Knowledge & Legal Technology team aims to streamline processes, deliver efficiencies, better collaboration, and faster completion of work through the production of innovative, secure technology solutions.

Reporting to the Senior Manager for Legal Technology, within the Knowledge & Legal Technology Department, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the operation and development of the firm’s client facing legal technology products, including our intranet, extranet platform (HighQ) and app building tool (Fliplet). Collaborating with our clients, you will deliver solutions that enhance the client experience.

This is a full-time role based from our Bristol or London offices. We are open to exploring flexible working patterns, this can be discussed during the application process.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the management and development of our client facing Knowledge & Legal Technology tools including our intranet, extranet platform (HighQ) and app building tool (Fliplet).
  • Line Management for our team of Legal Technologists.
  • Acting in a project management capacity to co-ordinate and supervise all legal technology projects delivered by Legal Technologists to ensure timely and accurate delivery of solutions.
  • Promoting the use and adoption of our existing legal knowledge technology to our lawyers and encouraging innovative uses.
  • Working closely with stakeholders across the firms including the Legal Tech Leads, Innovation Committee and IT team, to identify opportunities to devise and implement creative legal technology solutions and products to solve business problems and support client needs.
  • Providing counsel and expertise on the advancement of knowledge-based legal technology and systems to increase product value and lawyer engagement.
  • Working with our Learning & Development team to create and deliver programmes of training, presentations and demonstrations on our client facing legal technology to our lawyers and clients.
  • Responsibility for the design, development and maintenance of process documentation relating to legal technology including, but not limited to, governance strategies, lifecycle management and process workflows.
  • Supporting with the preparation and delivery of legal technology content within pitches to clients.
  • Responsibility for supplier and account management for our client facing legal technology tools, supporting the Senior Manager for Legal Technology with budgeting and procurement.
  • Providing insights on legal market and technology trends and investigating new solutions and technologies, to ensure we better address the challenges faced by lawyers.
  • Knowledge, skills and experienceThe ideal candidate will have the following qualities:A minimum of 3 years’ experience in leading and managing legal technology services and products.
  • People management experience including planning and evaluating team activities.
  • Graduate level. A degree or post-graduate qualification in law, knowledge or innovation related discipline is preferable but not essential.
  • Experience of managing and developing solutions using HighQ or Fliplet is essential.
  • Able to problem solve and design innovative solutions to achieve the lawyers and clients desired outcomes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, build relationships and clearly articulate and explain legal technology solutions benefits in non-technical terms.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle operational delivery with strategic thinking.
  • IT Literate, with an ability to learn quickly and adapt to new technologies.
  • Able to manage demanding workloads with strict deadlines and possess strong project management skills.
  • Strong client focussed approach with excellent analytical, communication and organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to form and maintain highly effective working relationships with all levels of seniority.
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail is essential.
  • A highly effective communicator – both written and oral.
  • Commercially aware, with an understanding of the concepts of efficiency.
  • Flexible – in approach, working hours, and priority management.
  • An aptitude for using and adapting technology to optimise efficiency.
