K&L Gates is seeking an enthusiastic Legal & Business Research Analyst to join our Information Services team in Melbourne. This full-time role will report to the Library and Information Services Manager based in our Sydney office, and you will be primarily responsible for the provision of high level legal and business research assistance for the firm’s partners and lawyers.
What does the role involve?
- Coordinating and performing law and other library research services both on-line and manually involving legal and other disciplines, which includes conferring with lawyers to define research needs, developing research strategies and then conducting the research.
- Assisting library users in finding materials and delivering training for lawyers (e.g. new starters, graduates/clerks) in relevant research techniques and firm’s systems.
- Embedded into a specific practice group/s, the Legal & Business Research Analyst is the primary point of contact for all of the Information Services needs of that group/s. This may require supporting groups located in other offices.
- Working on new and interesting projects (e.g. eBooks administration and development).
- Remaining current on technological and industry law library developments.
The ideal candidate with have 3+ years’ experience in a similar role and organisation. Candidates with previous experiences in any legal environment are encouraged to apply.
