Keypoint Law has welcomed a UK music lawyer to its fold, complementing the firm’s media and entertainment team.
Nick Weaser has joined Keypoint Law, effective immediately. He joins from Keystone Law in the UK, where he remains a partner in respect of his non-
Australian practice.
Mr Weaser brings an impressive track record to the firm, having advised a diverse range of artists, producers, songwriters and managers on all aspects of their careers and across the full spectrum of music industry contracts.
As per a statement provided by the firm, Mr Weaser will initially practise as an Australian registered foreign lawyer, continuing to advise his Aussie clients on the basis of the laws of England and Wales. Once he is admitted locally, his practice will expand to cover the laws of Australia, it added.
“Nick’s joining develops a new chapter for Keypoint, as we expand our focus on the music industry in Australia,” said Keypoint Law chief executive Warren Kalinko.
“Nick’s experience representing artists, songwriters and other creatives in Australia, the UK, Europe and the United States, positions us well to expand our offering in this exciting sector. We’re delighted Nick has joined us”.
Commenting on his appointment, Mr Weaser said: “Experiencing the cutting-edge Keystone Law model in the UK, my clients are delighted with the bespoke and flexible service that I am able to provide.
“With an ever-growing Australian client base, it was an easy decision to join Keypoint at such an exciting time in its growth, and to provide to my Australian clients everything that the firm has to offer.”
