Ten years after its first release, the third and most mould-breaking incarnation of Justis Publishing?s[i] provider-neutral JustCite citator and search engine is going live.
Here’s their press release in full:
Designed for and currently used by over 20,000 legal practitioners and researchers in Britain, Ireland and beyond, JustCite cannot easily be categorised. But of its many facets, those most improved by the new platform include:
? Speculative keyword searches, which bring the most relevant cases to the fore more quickly than you?d find them in a textbook
? New information page displays, that help users see how the cases they?re interested in relate to each other, including a snapshot of the case?s ?status?
? Easier-to-use deep links into third-party full-text databases, all reached through a single point of entry
Much of the development of the new JustCite has relied on the input from an eFocus Group comprising a wide range of individuals from barristers? chambers, law firms, universities and the public sector.
Se?n Jones, a leading barrister specialising in employment and discrimination law at 11KBW[ii] in London, is a member of the electronic focus group. He said: ?The new JustCite stands out as being one of the few technological developments that genuinely succeeds in making a lawyer?s life easier.?
Justis Publishing?s managing director, Masoud Gerami, said: ?I am delighted that the new JustCite platform has culminated in what we set out to do which was to combine the highest quality content with our most advanced technology, and produce a first class legal citator. The extra editorial added value and technologies for intelligent searching and ranking will make JustCite more of a must-have tool for serious legal professionals around the globe.?
