Jones Day Loses Partner To KL Gates In Singapore

The Singapore office of global law firm K&L Gates LLP has hired Brian J. Wesol as a partner in the firm?s corporate practice. Wesol joins K&L Gates from Jones Day.

Having practiced in the United States and Southeast Asia for nearly two decades, Wesol has extensive experience advising corporate and government issuers and underwriters in capital markets transactions, as well as representing companies and investors on both domestic and inbound bank financings, acquisitions, joint ventures, and corporate restructurings. In addition to his work with clients in Southeast and South Asia, including in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and India, Wesol has also counseled clients based throughout Europe and the United States.

In the past two years, Wesol has been the lead lawyer on corporate finance transactions involving securities offerings and bank loans that have raised more than U.S.$4.5 billion in financing for corporate clients in Asia. Additionally, a number of Wesol?s transactions have received accolades from leading international legal and financial publications and organizations during the last five years.
