Join ALA for National Library Legislative Day (U.S.), May 1-2, 2017

Here’s their notice

Join us for National Library Legislative Day, May 1-2, 2017. This year it is more important than ever that we let Congress know how important libraries are to our communities. You can join us live in Washington, D.C., or virtually – your voice counts no matter which way you choose to participate. http://www.ala.org/advocacy/advleg/nlld

Join us in Washington, D.C. for a two-day advocacy event that brings hundreds of library supporters together to rally support for libraries. On day one, participants attend a full day of training, complete with issue briefings and tips and tricks for new advocates. On day two, attendees join their state delegation for meetings on the Hill with their Senators and Representatives.

This year’s keynote speaker will be Hina Shamsi, Director of the ACLU National Security Project.

More information and hotel booking information are available at http://www.ala.org/advocacy/advleg/nlld.
