They write,………..An opportunity for Law Librarians to pilot a new service from Jisc
Jisc provides digital solutions for UK education and research. We operate the UK Access Management Federation (AMF), which provides academic libraries with seamless, single sign-on access to their digital content and services. Today this service is used by every University and almost all Colleges in the UK, connecting them to hundreds of their services. You can read more about the AMF at its website, http://www.ukfederation.org.uk.
In October we will be launching a new service called “Liberate”. This is a complementary cloud-based service which makes it even easier and cheaper for libraries to enjoy the benefits of the AMF, while also simplifying user access to IP-authenticated services. You can read more about Liberate at its website, http://www.jisc.ac.uk/liberate.
We believe that Liberate may also be attractive to libraries serving other communities, and have started piloting its use within non-academic settings. In these pilots are we seeking to understand Liberate’s effectiveness within different library settings, with promising results so far. We are now interested in expanding our pilot to include a number of Law libraries in the UK and elsewhere.
If your organisation might be interested in participating within a pilot, please contact Josh.Howlett@Jisc.ac.uk. There would be no cost or obligation associated with participating in the pilot.
