Kirkland & Ellis has been confirmed as the richest law firm in the world, with the Chicago practice overtaking its Los Angeles rival, Latham & Watkins, figures from the US showed yesterday. Reports the Times (UK)
Kirkland’s most recent annual revenue figure was $3.165 billion (£2.41 billion), moving it up to top place on the American Lawyer magazine’srevenue league table for this year.
The firm overtook not only Latham but also Baker McKenzie to secure the top slot. Latham clocked up a revenue figure of $3.063 billion, while Baker McKenzie had a turnover figure of $2.9 billion.
The highest ranking law firm with an English connection was DLA Piper, which is a transatlantic practice. It moved up one place to fourth on an annual revenue of £2.634 billion.
