Federal Reserve proposes rule to curb debanking tied to political views
The Federal Reserve Board on Feb. 26 issued a proposed rule that would prohibit the agency from using “reputation risk” to compel banks to deny services based on a customer’s political or religious beliefs or engagement in politically disfavored but lawful business activities.
