A lot of commentary about the launch of Bloomberg Law over the past 10 days. Their fixed fee of $US450 a month per user seems to be appealing to prospective users against the pay as you go model favoured by Lexis and Westlaw.

Will we see lexis/westlaw change their pricing strategy if the Bloomberg product starts to take clients off them in the US market.

This?ll be an interesting space to watch.

While on the subject of West take a look at two reports in our publishing section. One concerns West?s refusal to provide proper pricing information to the AALL index and another on what appears to be the increasing lack of knowledge West sales reps actually have about the products they are selling.

In our KM section we reference the following article published in the National Law Journal by Carolyn Buller.
Article: Use KM Across Law Firm Practice Groups

In which she writes?
Combining more traditional client services such as industry groups with new tactics such as business-process improvement, knowledge management, or project management <http://www.law.com/jsp/lawtechnologynews/PubArticleLTN.jsp?id=1202446555171> ?can improve client service and deepen client relationships. The challenge is to know how to use existing systems to capture industry information and to leverage that information into knowledge that is useful and valuable to the client.
