Welcome to issue 182 of Law Librarians News / excited utterances
In our vendor articles section we?ve got two, hopefully, useful pieces for you to read this week
First up LN (UK) have supplied us with an Article entitled Cite, To Recite & Excite, But Never To Incite: by Sally-Ann Kodurand. Worth a read and we do have to congratulate LN for managing to supply an article that doesn?t read as an advertorial . More of the same please
Article 2 is from the American Lawyer Law Library Survey by Alan Cohen and in which he writes.
Resources are on the chopping block, too. Indeed, the librarians who still have their jobs are being asked to become detectives of a sort, tracking, graphing, and reporting on their firm’s use of every research tool. As one library director — who, like many of her counterparts, requested anonymity — put it: “Nothing is a sacred cow anymore.
Everything must be reviewed, and there must be a palatable [return on investment] for each use.”
