Is it just me but the appearance of a couple of articles about in house counsel @ google after radio silence from day 1 of the company ..sending a signal ?

Here’s something from Fordham university about one of their graduates who works as in-house for Chrome.

Interesting in itself.

But what is more interesting to HOB  is the fact that normally the internal  departments at google operate on a basis that would make the Stasi appear to be a media organisation …

So….. two articles about google’s in house legal within the week sets HOB’s mind thinking whether this charm offensive means something more than ..hey look at our wonderful lawyers

Fordham Law alumnus Jack Chen, who is visually impaired and currently working at Google as the product counsel in charge of Chrome, was quoted in Bloomberg Law about how awareness should be raised regarding the diversity and inclusion of graduates with visual disability in the employment market.

According to Census Bureau statistics organized by Cornell University, there were more than 7 million adults, age 21-64, with a visual disability in the U.S. in 2014. Only about 27 percent had full-time, year-round employment, and almost 60 percent were completely unemployed.

“It’s important that we have laws in place protecting people — the ‘stick’ model — but what’s really going to drive lasting change is when people with disabilities are in the C-suite, running companies,” Chen said.
