An assailant carrying petrol attempted to set fire to a lawyer’s office in Tehran.
According to lawyer Ali Sharifzadeh Ardekani, in statements to the Emtedad news website, the incident happened on September 22 at the office of lawyer Zahra Khoshnazar.
The assailant made verbal threats and demanded 8.5 million tomans before the attempted arson, Sharifzadeh said.
Video evidence of the incident has been submitted to the investigating judge, according to Sharifzadeh.
More than a month after the case was filed, no summons has been issued for the perpetrator, Sharifzadeh told Emtedad.
“If a person were to attempt to set fire to a judge in a similar situation, what response would the judiciary have?” Sharifzadeh said.
