Information Services Officer – Law

An international law firm with a UK head office in Central London has a requirement for an Information Services Officer. This role would suit an information professional that enjoys a broad range of challenges in a fast paced information and research services function within a legal or professional services setting.

The core responsibilities and objectives include, but are not limited to:

  • Servicing legal and business research requests as part of centralised team
  • Managing collections, procurement of books and cataloguing of resources
  • Managing and updating a SharePoint intranet
  • Conducting inductions for new starters and providing ongoing training to stakeholders
  • Driving awareness and engagement throughout the business with research and information services function

Suitable candidates for this Information Services Officer role will need the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in a similar Information Officer, Information Services or Knowledge Management role, preferably gained within the legal sector
  • Demonstrable business and legal research skills using tools such as WestLaw or Lexis
  • Experience in cataloguing, collections and ideally some experience with procurement
  • A good understanding of library management systems, and ideally using SharePoint as an Intranet platform
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ideally, some relevant industry qualifications or a related degree
