I have to say as I’m not an In House Counsel I’d never heard of this publication before but it sounds, according to their reasoning, that it might well be a canary in the coalmine for many of these specialist legal publications held within bigger organisations eg here at Informa, Wiley, Bloomsbury Professional Bloomberg and the terible twins Lexis & Westlaw.
These legal publications developed by management over the last deade with writers and editors working of multiple publications will most likely evaporate into thin air and as with Legal Dive existing humans will be shovelled around into new roles in the short term at least.
Earlier in the week Estates Gazette in the UK got picked up by specialist trade publishers so it looks like if the big publishers have an established journal with a guaranteed subscriber base thay might able to flog it off but if they have been trying to run a profuit of online pubs with a 1000 subscribers or less those days are over thanks to AI
Here’s what they say although it’s not been that much of a good run as they only launched in 2022

On Feb. 22, 2025, Legal Dive will stop publishing. Informa TechTarget — the company behind the Industry Dive publications — has made the difficult decision to cease operations on Legal Dive.
Since we first launched in April 2022, we’ve been committed to providing you with essential coverage for in-house counsel. I’m glad to report that our journalists will stay with the newsroom in different roles. Lead Editor Robert Freedman will join Facilities Dive and Senior Reporter Justin Bachman will join Payments Dive.
