SUV-borne miscreants opened fire at lawyer Azad Ahmad and his brother while they were sitting near a restaurant at Loharamau railway overbridge at Sultanpur – Ayodhya highway
A lawyer identified as Azad Ahmad was allegedly shot dead and his brother was seriously injured by SUV- borne miscreants in Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district late on Sunday evening, police said. Azad’s seriously injured younger brother Munawar Ahmad was referred to Lucknow by doctors of the Sultanpur Medical College.
“Several police teams have been constituted to arrest the accused. Investigation is going on,” said Somen Barma, superintendent of police, Sultanpur.
According to reports, late in the evening the SUV-borne miscreants opened fire at lawyer Azad Ahmad and his brother while they were sitting near a restaurant at Loharamau railway overbridge at Sultanpur – Ayodhya highway.
Villagers rushed to the spot after hearing gun shots compelling miscreants to flee the crime scene leaving behind their vehicle.
The villager rushed the duo to medical college where doctors declared Azad Ahmad brought dead and referred seriously injured Munawar to Lucknow. After getting information, cops from Kotwali Dehat police station rushed to the spot.
