Unidentified miscreants attacked a lawyer with sticks while he was on way to his home in Chinhat area on Monday.
Seriously injured, he was admitted to RMLIMS Hospital. Police have registered the case against unidentified persons. The lawyer was identified as Asharam, a resident of Goyala, Chinhat.
His brother Manish said that on Monday at around 8 pm, Asharam had reached near Goyala village when about six-seven motorcycle-borne miscreants directed him to stop his vehicle.
When Asharam asked them whey he was stopped they started thrashing him with sticks and iron rods.
They were also carrying sharp-edged weapons, Manish said. The miscreant also threatened to kill him and fled.
Inspector, Chinhat, Bharat Pathak said that the police have launched a manhunt for the miscreants.
