Dear IFLA Colleagues,
On behalf of the members and board of the Lebanese Library Association (LLA), as well as all librarians and information specialists in Lebanon, we would like to thank you for your kind words and support for Lebanon. This is the greatest disaster to hit Lebanon. We woke to a dark reality, and each day some new tragedy is discovered. Now with over 200 dead and 6,000 injured including some colleagues who were at work or home.
The Lebanese people have always been a people of resistance and fortitude; we will rise from the ashes, as usual.
Whether near or far, we stand together as Lebanese and as Librarians.
Hopefully with the help of our friends and colleagues, together we will revive our Lebanese culture and restore and preserve our heritage.
