Job Description:
The Role
An opportunity for an ambitious Singapore-qualified Associate to work alongside one of the leading international Technology, Media and Telecoms (TMT) law firms in Singapore. As an Associate in the Commercial (TMT) team, the candidate will work with the biggest national, regional and international TMT players on projects that are shaping the sector in South-East Asia – whether that is commercial deals, transactional intellectual property advice or strategic regulatory advice.
Key Requirements
Must be Singapore-qualified. Dual-qualification / regional language a plus but not essential.
5+ PQE (Singapore).
TMT sector experience preferred but not essential. A genuine passion for tech, media and telecoms is, however, essential.
Of the 5+ years PQE, the majority should be general commercial experience – i.e. commercial contracts and sourcing, transactional IP advice (i.e. IP licences – not IP filings, TM portfolios, etc.) and regulatory advice (e.g. data protection, MAS regulation, advertising regulation).
In-house secondments viewed favourably.
Able to work independently and confidently with minimal partner supervision (i.e. taking instructions directly from clients, scoping out and delivering the work and following up on additional opportunities).
An interest in business development and building a practice in a supportive environment.
The candidate will work closely with and be supported by the leading team of recognised lawyers in the TMT space in the region and internationally.
