Hyatt Delayed Covid-Era Payouts, Ex-Workers Tell Appeals Panel

A Hyatt Hotels Corp. unit waited too long to pay out accrued vacation after sending workers home during the coronavirus pandemic, former workers said to the Ninth Circuit on Monday.

The pandemic has presented courts with “all kinds of new problems that nobody ever anticipated” when they were drafting legislation, and it “seems like this is one of those cases,” Judge Danielle J. Forrest of the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said during oral arguments in Pasadena, Calif.
