The Role
The role of the Web and Publications Unit (WPU) is to maintain a high standard of committee publications, web, and social media content, ensuring accuracy, accessibility, optimisation for search engine results, and that content is tailored for online audiences. The WPU are also responsible for embedding effective and creative social media and web content strategies to engage the public with select committee work. As Parliament’s website is redeveloped the WPU will play a leading role in articulating both internal and external user needs to increase public understanding and participation in committee work.
They provide super-user support to colleagues outside the team and look for new tools and methods to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the Committee Office. The team leads the implementation of the digital-first strategy on behalf of the Department.

The Person
The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience:
- Excellent written communication skills and a demonstrable ability to write inclusively for different audiences
- Strong IT skills, particularly knowledge of, or ability to learn, HTML/CSS/Javascript, Microsoft Office and/or Adobe Creative Cloud
- Good organisational and planning skills, able to organise own workload to achieve demanding deadlines by thoughtful planning
