The Global Legal Post reports
Five former Hogan Lovells lawyers have joined Jones Day’s offices in Singapore and Beijing.
Hogan Lovells’ head of infrastructure and regional energy and resources practice head James Harris has departed the firm to join Jones Day’s office in Singapore. Alex Cull, Bruce Schulberg and former counsel Julien Reidy are coming on as partners at Jones Day’s office in Singapore, while former counsel Kanyi Lui has become a partner at the firm’s Beijing office. Mr Harris commented that the team’s decision to move to Jones Day was a result of the firm’s ‘clear strategy, and long-term approach to Asia and Australia, and its leading energy, projects and infrastructure, disputes and restructuring practices.’
Looking forward
Hogan Lovells regional managing partner Patrick Sherrington told Asian Legal Business that the firm had been ‘prepared’ for the departure of Mr Harris, who had been managing partner of the firm’s Singapore practice until June 2014. ‘The other departures are disappointing but we have a strong practice in the region and the support of the network and the region will simply strengthen the team going forward,’ he said
