Police said there are nine felony warrants against Penelope Ann Frisby, of Weaverville. Investigators said Frisby stole the money from the Davis and Whitlock law firm. The law firm, on Battery Park Avenue in Asheville, practices environmental law in the public interest.
Frisby is charged with obtaining property under false pretense exceeding $100,000, four counts of forgery and four counts of uttering a forged instrument – the use of a forged document to defraud others.
Frisby is described at 5 feet 4 inches tall with brown hair and blue eyes. (Image attached.)
