Description
The College of Law Library at West Virginia University invites applications for the position of Head of Attorney Services, Law Practice Technology, and Outreach Librarian. The Librarian serves as a member of the reference team and as the primary reference contact for attorneys. The Librarian develops, coordinates, and participates in service, training, and outreach activities for members of the West Virginia State Bar. The role includes enhancing the outreach efforts and communication of library services and resources to the bench and the bar throughout the state, facilitating communication between the law library and practitioners, assessing the legal research needs of practitioners, and identifying opportunities to support them through effective research techniques and law-practice technology innovations. This individual will supervise one Library Associate, and the Library Technology Specialist.

The Librarian will also teach Introduction to Legal Research, Advanced Legal Research, and provide guest lectures and programs related to legal research and law-practice technology as needed. Some travel to meetings and conferences of various local, regional, and state bar associations, state agencies, legal services organizations, law firms, and professional conferences is required.

Qualifications
Position requires a J.D. and an M.L.S. or related degree, a minimum of 2 years of law-practice experience, and excellent interpersonal skills. Experience and proficiency with law-practice technology is also preferred.
